When I got home, I dished up a big slice of pizza and a glass of wine<br />

I got my ready cut fabric pieces for Stargazer spread out over the dinner table ready to be glue basted to the paper<br />
<br />

<br />
However that was about as far as I got before I got distracted by other things and the evening just went by. Yesterday I had big plans of getting back to them after doing some bit of tidying in the spare room, but I was on duty at work, and whenever I got over to the table the phone would ring.<br />

This morning I have prepped some more hexagons for this week's clue for Wintry Hexies - we'll see how much I get done... not stressing about this.<br />
<br />
My seedlings are growing - over the last week the sweet pepper has come up, as well as one little cucumber plant:<br />

Coming home from work I got a pizza in the oven and a glass of wine ready, and started prepping some hexies for the previous two clues for Wintry Hexies and started stitching. However I forgot to take pictures along the way... This morning I got the pieces for this week's clue attached - an this is how it is now looking<br />

I have framed five of my six pointed stars, and make three of the connecting six pieced hexagons<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL1GKxBBoGAPfxSA0sADX0vbiN_bM-eGzXXZ1UNCBDbkJh9Li-j_5lMUnFPk6ycbEb3qq0ui40YCRAiUOecE1qD8VTTEcligKzyHM01PKNdmbbEf9k3MvhYtIY5xnGrjVaCbUCFUCskoki/s1600/Stargazer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1098" data-original-width="1600" height="273" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL1GKxBBoGAPfxSA0sADX0vbiN_bM-eGzXXZ1UNCBDbkJh9Li-j_5lMUnFPk6ycbEb3qq0ui40YCRAiUOecE1qD8VTTEcligKzyHM01PKNdmbbEf9k3MvhYtIY5xnGrjVaCbUCFUCskoki/s400/Stargazer.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So running out of pieces untill I get home, I have brought out some yarn and some knitting needles and started on an Easter yellow dish cloth<br />

I found I had finished 20 of the six pointed stars that make up the centers of the blocks.Yesterday I got four more stars pieced together:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEity5CmUjsX49yvg8XrF3-5A3qA0cY_9zlMGlPrGtEWBqUOJ-mbz8LratcNIyt_z3Cn82HErD4LGEXGiLdVcDJfKVoDugJyV4K9apg0lm18LsKqQfW7p15P-cFyIgu200nKa9MSnWaIPiZq/s1600/Snap113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="618" data-original-width="1021" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEity5CmUjsX49yvg8XrF3-5A3qA0cY_9zlMGlPrGtEWBqUOJ-mbz8LratcNIyt_z3Cn82HErD4LGEXGiLdVcDJfKVoDugJyV4K9apg0lm18LsKqQfW7p15P-cFyIgu200nKa9MSnWaIPiZq/s400/Snap113.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The plan for today is prepping the remaining 8 six pointed stars and 6 half stars, and hopefully find the time to cut out the pieces for the surrounding circles<br />

Pieces for yesterday's clue for Wintry Hexies are also on the table, next to my water glass, and the piece so far is hanging in the background. <br />

This week the task is a bit larger than the previous weeks since it is connecting all the loose sections to the diamond we made in week five as well as making two diamonds similar to the ones we did in week six<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnkfSk4RbMADjVYO5u8eRFoXDMEsTZ6CQdyZ7CjSLGTD18nt1j7aEQqG7X2GBcGnODc6JhUuPW6Yu6QzkDhCEQiZ5hd_Vt5aMz_3jk_GHSaPOy8wfa536MvWAbxNFyr13vmbFq-1HZkrt8/s1600/Snap112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="525" data-original-width="660" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnkfSk4RbMADjVYO5u8eRFoXDMEsTZ6CQdyZ7CjSLGTD18nt1j7aEQqG7X2GBcGnODc6JhUuPW6Yu6QzkDhCEQiZ5hd_Vt5aMz_3jk_GHSaPOy8wfa536MvWAbxNFyr13vmbFq-1HZkrt8/s400/Snap112.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

I will enjoy slowly stitching the remaining sections of this week's clue on this fine Sunday! Linking up with <a href="https://kathysquilts.blogspot.no/2018/03/slow-sunday-stitching_18.html" target="_blank">Slow Sunday Stitching over at Kathy's Quilts</a>.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjofuX-4BGUQ9sJyUem1WffcHgY24v-d51l7GDp4pZbLMtD0rsdargE7CYDDgTRSYvknT-CNdO7oRNhrfdj1T6CiSETRrc3x51rgLfGSJrwV-uwENM9RZZ9ML_5rW0Kf2NAklBP7LDj7Flq/s1600/Snap109.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="916" data-original-width="1461" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjofuX-4BGUQ9sJyUem1WffcHgY24v-d51l7GDp4pZbLMtD0rsdargE7CYDDgTRSYvknT-CNdO7oRNhrfdj1T6CiSETRrc3x51rgLfGSJrwV-uwENM9RZZ9ML_5rW0Kf2NAklBP7LDj7Flq/s400/Snap109.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
However reading the email a bit closer, I figured I needed these triangles to be made from fabric F. Hopefully I will be able to use my two green/grey triangle units at some other point!<br />
<br />
My fabric F is bright tangerine, so two triangles came together this evening - these units are quite quick and easy to make<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHLjFDM-sQGC1Z7K5oiBW9UxeTiSnPfTnf5h-frSR0ei7c9KTSdx85D-ars3HxZ4oht9ppU9BlAiFnfXwYv1jljy_X60GGp3qgWFdHPwdulf6n2QBM8HTwyOqmR33BvMDcDYXGAP2y5vK/s1600/WH+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="679" data-original-width="918" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHLjFDM-sQGC1Z7K5oiBW9UxeTiSnPfTnf5h-frSR0ei7c9KTSdx85D-ars3HxZ4oht9ppU9BlAiFnfXwYv1jljy_X60GGp3qgWFdHPwdulf6n2QBM8HTwyOqmR33BvMDcDYXGAP2y5vK/s400/WH+10.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Earlier this week I did the second part of this week's clue, which was to attach pink and light orange sections from weeks 7 and 8 to the previously combined piece - not the best contrast between these triangles, but I'm not re-doing it.<br />
<br />
Happy to see the project is growing 😄<br />

Giving this pattern a go: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga_F2C48bkHQNPYpsSqdFQ92g8BUQv0ChG8Yae6QqQ8FHcBNj3fRU3Vm_DxSPw0i-Nm-mOc-gg9iIqrnX0DAek4u1bSpvPaKHg9rovWY-LIVKScu14qCWUpdyCDObwUR8vqKyk-3tiF9S9/s1600/Snap103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="856" data-original-width="1404" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga_F2C48bkHQNPYpsSqdFQ92g8BUQv0ChG8Yae6QqQ8FHcBNj3fRU3Vm_DxSPw0i-Nm-mOc-gg9iIqrnX0DAek4u1bSpvPaKHg9rovWY-LIVKScu14qCWUpdyCDObwUR8vqKyk-3tiF9S9/s400/Snap103.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I ended up with four fun placemats for my table: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0-TqNtzXmN-K-jgmuMfkjad-htKs2UAhr_LRkXzOBZgpAo5U_HFdMWTVhPI1ca8u-wcDlzEnPU49FgXKsEfxYHofG_xIi1b1d3w3hr7uoCvsIQZu63U2xYoTBZB1mUSezX3XoteeMgo_f/s1600/Snap111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="891" data-original-width="1600" height="222" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0-TqNtzXmN-K-jgmuMfkjad-htKs2UAhr_LRkXzOBZgpAo5U_HFdMWTVhPI1ca8u-wcDlzEnPU49FgXKsEfxYHofG_xIi1b1d3w3hr7uoCvsIQZu63U2xYoTBZB1mUSezX3XoteeMgo_f/s400/Snap111.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>

This morning I got cutting and glue basting - and of course I had to start stitching. <br />

It has been commented on me using a Christmas mug rug throughout the whole year. So for my Friday Night with Friends sewing, I made up my mind to get going on a new one, breaking into my precious Tula Pink racoon fabric. Won't manage to finish it Friday night, but guess it might get finished over the weekend.<br />

Yesterday I got together the clue for week 6 - fairly simple stitching 18 hexagons going into two elongated flowers, and it was great as a bring-along piece for me to stitch while visiting my parents<br />
<br />

As the picture shows, we had another bout of snow here in Oslo last night, at least the fog from this morning has cleared. Today I'm working on the clue for week 5, which is 34 hexagons framing the piece from the first clues - not sure why but these are taking me quite some time: <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0unXRuHcYPrTaEcpac2s0pAeLryab5aUMERZ5GmFQiYsXNCd1THdS_hft6qL7KipRCgqZgA0nacjJ4fSRoiSBMaQxAWKGKnjK-3FKf8oUg6XBmEc4ANCSvXyEPrCVwoipovl2Qv0kDOt/s1600/Snap103.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="864" data-original-width="524" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0unXRuHcYPrTaEcpac2s0pAeLryab5aUMERZ5GmFQiYsXNCd1THdS_hft6qL7KipRCgqZgA0nacjJ4fSRoiSBMaQxAWKGKnjK-3FKf8oUg6XBmEc4ANCSvXyEPrCVwoipovl2Qv0kDOt/s400/Snap103.gif" width="242" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Getting a bit fed up with winter, and needing a splash of colours. Playing with my <i>Winterse Hexjes</i> project kind of show that. The task for week three were two more flower blocks:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHkvZWSIEV70VMcq86cfrrzNYsl55cAfSxSjdIk1f8gO30r3cjDrKGzxSo47qbIQG4q_KP0KWhWBhbW-jRQNcLHeDwU3D2O4SlhQGBJQkUx1anUxmoK1yk_M8ac-5pkUWdUXwy0PlJEoiB/s1600/Snap106.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="885" data-original-width="1414" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHkvZWSIEV70VMcq86cfrrzNYsl55cAfSxSjdIk1f8gO30r3cjDrKGzxSo47qbIQG4q_KP0KWhWBhbW-jRQNcLHeDwU3D2O4SlhQGBJQkUx1anUxmoK1yk_M8ac-5pkUWdUXwy0PlJEoiB/s400/Snap106.gif" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And then for week four another round tying the flowers to the previously stitched section - my wintery Sunday stitching bright tangerine pieces:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

The mystery is run by <a href="http://www.anneliefs.nl/" target="_blank">AnneLiefs in the Netherlands</a> and is called <i>Winterse Hexjes (Wintry Hexagons)</i> <br />
<b></b><b> </b><b></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJfbp2mNiKjhR5SuVJBCb8BrXFW9DN7GjWeIurKWKWEceah-ak8MHgKeQqR9i2n3OpedChX7NSoGh62EpcQuNgQ30Ow_0kT7d_aSYm36BhSlECtDU5umXNGo-cpYGu-XhVeOjiKcZ0ToEK/s1600/Winterse+Hexjes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="228" data-original-width="577" height="157" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJfbp2mNiKjhR5SuVJBCb8BrXFW9DN7GjWeIurKWKWEceah-ak8MHgKeQqR9i2n3OpedChX7NSoGh62EpcQuNgQ30Ow_0kT7d_aSYm36BhSlECtDU5umXNGo-cpYGu-XhVeOjiKcZ0ToEK/s400/Winterse+Hexjes.jpg" width="400" /></a></b></div>
<br />
<br />
I just felt my fingers itch to stitch *lol* so I signed up for the pattern clues. The pattern emails are in dutch, but the pictures say enough for a non-dutch speaking person to understand<b><br /></b><br />
<br />
The mystery has been up and running for a while, but I'm gonna go at it in my own tempo and enjoy every step of the way. <br />
<br />
My sewing room is being used as storage for everything I haven't found a place for since moving, so it is still a complete mess. However I knew where I have stashed some Tula Pink fabrics, and I think I'm gonna have some fun playing with those in this project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkrSzyRYYNLJoozCBjKx6DOP2MJfH1ZP3nLMMwZA_wMFHCo140eNYUzgMQub6rcGrQUX5F07VNA68GvobaCmaPD2zo4bATvRyc9l66pRx4xblxQTlgxByvqX3fgVSuY8ZyH03cWEC-Aqph/s1600/Winterse+Hexjes+del+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="708" data-original-width="1064" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkrSzyRYYNLJoozCBjKx6DOP2MJfH1ZP3nLMMwZA_wMFHCo140eNYUzgMQub6rcGrQUX5F07VNA68GvobaCmaPD2zo4bATvRyc9l66pRx4xblxQTlgxByvqX3fgVSuY8ZyH03cWEC-Aqph/s400/Winterse+Hexjes+del+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The hexies used in the pattern is 1", but in the mess here in my flat I
was only able to find some packets of 3/4" papers, and I don't mind down
scaling a bit. <br />
<br />

<br /></div>
One of my readers recently reminded me that it's been a long time since this blog has been updated. In between going back to work full time and moving across town it just hasn't been much energy for quilting or blogging.<br />
<br />
For the years I've been doing this blog I have posted a New Year's Resolution. However seeing as we are quickly approaching mid-February without one having been made, I have decided to go with a 2018 Reminder (to my self):<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVTDTKjfaYQq001JXBSkHo0wRh2b1uq1q9jsz-g5818pQOO9itWjlQxK0lf6w3W6s3OnYT7qVjOJ6JWm572mwWhLw0yLOrd-vUsjHbHdllUPtoPHgA_lU6pKSxjXhq614XINR8c3BTmdjc/s1600/2018+Resolution.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="424" data-original-width="412" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVTDTKjfaYQq001JXBSkHo0wRh2b1uq1q9jsz-g5818pQOO9itWjlQxK0lf6w3W6s3OnYT7qVjOJ6JWm572mwWhLw0yLOrd-vUsjHbHdllUPtoPHgA_lU6pKSxjXhq614XINR8c3BTmdjc/s320/2018+Resolution.png" width="310" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Not putting any pressure on myself, but knowing that if I take pleasure in every stitch, they will go a long way in getting some goals ticked of my list for 2018. <br />
<br />
And I'm reminded I haven't showed some of my finishes for Christmas. I made lots of little zipper pouches<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6EFGyHRNtM0_ZZY7Tb3PI4rZlMDeMb1o-TeCo3AcPblAdvZE2RZzB8SxoZ2rG1PR9kOI7l-QxavicOcOrVvR7-XSQWdJqF9UULS5zkE6zsLP1FiFikETq2nFyscGDOLAg8HiDLEB7qrbZ/s1600/20171220_093323.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6EFGyHRNtM0_ZZY7Tb3PI4rZlMDeMb1o-TeCo3AcPblAdvZE2RZzB8SxoZ2rG1PR9kOI7l-QxavicOcOrVvR7-XSQWdJqF9UULS5zkE6zsLP1FiFikETq2nFyscGDOLAg8HiDLEB7qrbZ/s400/20171220_093323.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These are some of them (didn't get pictures of all of them)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdDmKs9hanjG_f0L5-2oTOGxCLGdjE0kbcRfclcHuS0I8-dW5jccOomDd96Hru3RKpTmyvyCnjP8vsoAsU8LESx8_9o1Q9uUuZ6KoVMibNvp-HbnB5rXHh90HyrVn-mL2e7-tu_i6DOqQL/s1600/20171231_131716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdDmKs9hanjG_f0L5-2oTOGxCLGdjE0kbcRfclcHuS0I8-dW5jccOomDd96Hru3RKpTmyvyCnjP8vsoAsU8LESx8_9o1Q9uUuZ6KoVMibNvp-HbnB5rXHh90HyrVn-mL2e7-tu_i6DOqQL/s400/20171231_131716.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And I actually finished my Christmas Wreath wall hanging and got it hung outside my apartment door <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Since most of my stash has been packed away, I brought with me a bag of 2.5" strips and started cutting them into half hexagon shapes. On Saturday I spent a lot of the day piecing these into long sections<br />

<br />
Because of the bias in the pieces the sections stretched beyond my imagination, and I ended up spending more time unsewing than I did sewing :-(<br />
<br />
Batting and backing is ready, so now I just have to find the time to get this all together. <br />

Since I have started packing for moving to a new flat a lot of my quilting stuff has been packed away, however I do need some sewing brakes in between packing.<br />
<br />
<br />
A new flat means new areas to decorate, and Christmas will be here before we know it, and since I had some bits of green and Christmas fabrics that haven't been packed up, this is what I decided to play with<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC8yRSk9eHPi1swV5ewwm2-Cvc77T3ayk2lS9a01nSdfl_BCcciNS80RF0zNyDEDNWG0OB2YtWdeMj5ksFN10MCpesu1ks-VPMFg9nUNgVwb82IKBqxQ867KcKEs370qSNbW0DbkdNrYky/s1600/Snap93.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="883" data-original-width="1600" height="220" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC8yRSk9eHPi1swV5ewwm2-Cvc77T3ayk2lS9a01nSdfl_BCcciNS80RF0zNyDEDNWG0OB2YtWdeMj5ksFN10MCpesu1ks-VPMFg9nUNgVwb82IKBqxQ867KcKEs370qSNbW0DbkdNrYky/s400/Snap93.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been browsing the internet for an idea for a Christmas wreath quilt - lots of nice options that will look fabulous as part of a sampler quilt or something similar, but nothing that spoke to me to be a one block wall hanging... But then I remembered I had seen something in an old book, <i>Egg Money Quilts</i> by Eleanor Burns. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I had some fun watching an old episode of <i>Inspector Morse</i> while needle turn appliqué the plate down It's a 10" diameter Dresden plate appliqued to a 12.75" of background
fabric. The border is a 2.5" strip. Now to get it quilted and bound, and figure out if I'll embellish it somehow.<br />

and the two top stars are made from the same piece of fabric, the fussy cut are the same pattern in alternate colours, and the diamonds are tuned opposite ways (ok, not sure that was an understandable explanation *lol*). <br />
