What have I been up to...?

It's hard to believe it is nearly a week since my last post. I have had friends staying since Friday before New Year, and we have been so busy enjoying ourselves that time has just flown by. I haven't done much sewing so far in 2008... Tonight I started my mini quilt for the winter part of the Four Seasons Quilt swap:

The top is now together, using lots of scraps and bits and pieces from my stash (keeping the diet! *lol*) I have the batting and the backing in my cupboard, but I have to pop into the shop in the beginning of the week for some blue quilting thread. Hopefully I'll have the binding on by next weekend. So fingers crossed that --- will like it!

May Britt has a challenge on her blog about finishing WISPs in January, so as to be able to feel good about starting new projects. I wasn't planning on taking her challenge since most of my WISPs and UFOs are larger projects, but she has convinced me to take the time this month to work on (and hopefully finish!) some of those projects already started. This will be my first to focus on:

Remember that Jelly Roll I won as a door prize in the beginning of October? This is what I've done with it. The pattern is Homeward Bound by Blue Creek, and since I'm making it with Roman Holiday fabrics I think I'll call my quilt Home for The Holidays (see, I was hoping to have it done by Xmas! *lol*). It is in lack of borders and then the quilting and the binding... hopefully it will be done shortly!

I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Sincerely, Anne Ida

Those are both so pretty. I am getting ready to start another quilt this week, and cannot wait! I was going to join the challenge of the WISP's too, but decided not too, as most of the things I need to finish are rather large :D I have 4 that need to be quilted or tied, and that's a big job LOL! One step at a time right? :D

The 4SQS blue quilt is adorable. I've always loved the pattern you've used for the jelly roll, it's so sweet looking in the fabrics you picked.
