Prepping Epp

Yesterday I pulled out my project box for the Stargazer quilt. I found I had finished 20 of the six pointed stars that make up the centers of the blocks.Yesterday I got four more stars pieced together:

The plan for today is prepping the remaining 8 six pointed stars and 6 half stars, and hopefully find the time to cut out the pieces for the surrounding circles

Pieces for yesterday's clue for Wintry Hexies are also  on the table, next to my water glass, and the piece so far is hanging in the background.

More Hexies on a Slow Sunday Stitching

Yesterday a new clue for Wintry Hexies waited for me in my email when I got up. This week the task is a bit larger than the previous weeks since it is connecting all the loose sections to the diamond we made in week five as well as making two diamonds similar to the ones we did in week six

I will enjoy slowly stitching the remaining sections of this week's clue on this fine Sunday! Linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching over at Kathy's Quilts.

Wintry Hexies Week 10

This week's clue for the Wintry Hexies challenge was two more triangle units, which I got done on Sunday while we were away on our quilty getaway

However reading the email a bit closer, I figured I needed these triangles to be made from fabric F. Hopefully I will be able to use my two green/grey triangle units at some other point!

My fabric F is bright tangerine, so two triangles came together this evening - these units are quite quick and easy to make

Earlier this week I did the second part of this week's clue, which was to attach pink and light orange sections from weeks 7 and 8 to the previously combined piece - not the best contrast between these triangles, but I'm not re-doing it.

Happy to see the project is growing 😄

New Placemats

Friday morning we set of across the border to Sweden for a weekend of quilting and chatting at LappElisa's - my only plan for the weekend was to enjoy myself and if possible make some new placemats. Giving this pattern a go:

I ended up with four fun placemats for my table:

I had brought along some half hexie pieces left over from a quilt I started this autumn, and played around on a cushion cover idea:

Lots and lots of yummy stuff in the shop - some bits and pieces came home with me :-)

New Clue for Wintry Hexies

Yesterday the clue for Wintry Hexies week 9 arrived  in my email yesterday. This morning I got cutting and glue basting - and of course I had to start stitching.

I have also finished my racoon mug rug - looking great with this morning's cup of coffee

FNwF A New MugRug

It has been commented on me using a Christmas mug rug throughout the whole year. So for my Friday Night with Friends sewing, I made up my mind to get going on a new one, breaking into my precious Tula Pink racoon fabric. Won't manage to finish it Friday night, but guess it might get finished over the weekend.
