Backpack - another finish!

My friend Leisha Camden (formerly refered to as my friend K) and I made some bags during the winter 2006-2007, and among our projects were a Jinny Beyer backpack, made from some of the leftovers from this quilt:

But we didn't get any further than making the panels for the back and front before the backpack project ended up in the UFO drawer... sigh! But as I've been in the mood of finishing some projects, I pulled the backpack out, and now it's all done:

The straps are a bit long, so I might shorten them someday... But I'm so happy with it!!! And best of all, I'll be able to actually use it :o)

Happy quilty weekend!
Sincerely, Anne Ida

That quilt is simply stunning! Very cool that you had enough fabric left over to make the backpack. It looks great!

Good girl finishing it. I really have to look into my ufo's now and finish some. But not right now. After moving DD to Trondheim

Å denne var flott. Jeg tror jeg har mønsteret liggende, kanskje jeg skal se litt nærmere på det? Ha ei riktig fin helg.

The quilt and the backpack are beautiful! Jinny Beyer's patterns are just stunning. I have a friend who has a similar JB pattern as a UFO. I am going to direct her to your blog to get inspired to finish it!

Way to go on finishing it up. So often its hard to pick something back up and finish it. The bag is beautiful. Jenny Meyer's quilt colors always amaze me.

Dear Anne Ida,
Congratulations and WOW! The quilt and backpack are fabulous. I was away at quilt camp last week and did a little finishing myself. One top done and still needing to quilt, but will be doing that on my new Lenni when it arrives. Another top is now more that halfway done, then that to be quilted. Julie in NH
