It's in the hoop - woohoo!

Got my Sugar Camp Quilt layered and basted last night. This is my first time using Hobbs wool batting - not quite sure what I think yet... The needle goes through it very smoothly, so that is a positive, but it did feel kind of lumpy/uneven while I was basting it - let you know what my feelings are when I have quilted a bit more.

Very nice, anxious to hear what you think about the wool.

Looks great from the back! Hand quilting is not something I would do, but I like to see quilts finished by hand. Sigh...wishing my grandma was around to teach me to use a thimble again...

OOOOOO!!

Anne Ida,

Look forward to your opinion about the Hobbs wool batting. What other battings do you us and/or prefer? So far my favorite is Warm and Natural.

I haven't done any hand quilting for almost 30 years...but, seeing your photos of a quilt in a hoop...sigh...it really makes me wanna get out my hoops. Lovely quilt!

Your handquilting is so lovely. I am just not very good at holding those tiny needles, but am learning to love stick & stab technique with pearl cotton.
