Even More Star Blocks

The Twin Stars quilt is taking shape - and I'm pretty pleased with the over all look so far

The contrast in some of the square in a square units isn't optimal, but I can live with it as I think it will create interest in the finished qult.

All the half square triangles, flying geese, four patches and square in a square units are sewn, and the blocks are laid out next to Bernie to be stitched together whenever I'm in the mood.

God påske/Happy Easter

Last day at the office before Easter today. I'm on call duty through the holiday, but still looking forward to a few days of relaxing.

More Stars + Sunday Reading

Stitched a few more star blocks last night, and pressed them this morning. This project is really starting to take shape, Very happy with the look of it so far:

Beautiful weather in Oslo at the moment, and the feel of Easter has decended upon us. A week ago I picked up a few of the Cobbled Court quilts novels by Marie Bostwick. Brought the book and a cup of tea with me to the park today to enjoy the lovely spring sunshine.

Enjoying the novel a lot so far, still getting to know the main charachters.

Twin Stars

Wonder what Kiki and Lala was doing showing up in my previous post? They are the Little Twin Stars, the cute little characters I was so enamored with as a child :-) Why I have started thinking about them now?

For a long time I have wanted to try my hands on the Twin Stars pattern by Pam and Nicky Lintott. Remember the jelly roll I picked up at The Quilting Room? I have been chopping it up, and now my blocks are taking shape. And I'm loving them so far!

My jelly roll is Black Tie Affair by Basicgrey for Moda. The colours are all black, greys and creams - which might be a bit of a challenge.

But I love a challenge :-) And I have seen monochrome versions of this quilt - there's a blue one in the pattern book, and here's one in red and white by Chris in UK.

Excited to see how this one turns out :-)

The Forest Walk Through Swinley Forest

Swinley Forest is a large expanse of Crown Estate woodland mainly within the civil parishes of Windlesham in Surrey andWinkfield and Crowthorne in Berkshire, England. My walk started at northern edge of Crowthorne Woods

This pillar is known as a trig point and was used for surveying and map making for the British Iles, before the trees had grown
