Extended weekend - not much quilting

I have spent the past few days at the family summer house - about 2 hours driving from where I live. We have opened the place for the summer, and basically relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I did bring some sewing with me; I managed to stitch a little bit, but not as much as I would have liked (just lying in the sun took too much time *lol*).

Well, what I can show is one more SBS block - Gentleman's Fancy, which is hand pieced seeing as I haven't brought a sewing down there for the summer yet; and the centres for two more blue and white swap blocks (Tumbling Blocks) - I have also basted the paper to most of the remaining pieces for the last four Tumbling Blocks blocks I'll be making (in the plasitic bag). So all in all not much, but not all that bad...

I hope all of you - my blogging friends - have had a great weekend and a good 1. May!
Sincerely, Anne

It seems the weather is the same all over Europe. Nice sunshine (which I enjoyed today as well quilting in the garden). I love the colours of the SBS block. Your blue project is coming along nicely. Take care.

Those Tumbling Blocks are so striking! Is that all the English Paper piecing method? It looks great!

That sitting in the sun - it's a dirty job but somebody has to do it! The stitching will still be there when you come back in :o)

Thanks for the warm comment on my blog Anne, I'm happy to be blogging again too! I think the biggest inspiration to me has been visiting quilt blogs and seeing what amazing things quilter's come up with!

Also, your tumbling blocks project is looking fantastic! I love the colors! I have just begun some hand pieced projects to practice - boy does it take some skill and patience! :)

I can't get past SBS being sunbonnet sue, and obviously that's not what it is here. What is it? I like the blue blocks, too.

My goodness, I had read that you were working on SBS blocks, and wasn't quite sure what that was. I just had some free time to investigate, and I was curious what your project was going to be - and oh my, how impressive!!! I just noticed the link to Sarah's Bridal Sampler on your blog (I usually read your posts through bloglines) and all I can say is WOW! I cannot wait to see your finished quilt now!!! Especially after I just finished the first book - boy do I have some reading to get on with! :)
