On a roll...?

After a long time of no sewing it looks like I'm on a bit of a roll ;-) A little while back I had a request for a tote bag, and since a planned game night yesterday was canceled I found myself in the company of Bernie. I got all the pieces cut, the front pieced and quilted last night, and starting sewing just after breakfast today the bag itself has just been put together:

Pretty pleased with it :-) Hope the person who will receive it will be pleased, too!

More quilty news is that I have finally gotten my Carolina Christmas quilt basted! A bit of a nightmare job:

This is one heavy quilt due to all those seams, and will probably take me a long time to quilt - need to be diciplined and do it in small dosages ;-)

Happy quilty weekend!

It's quilted, bound and washed :-D

Woohoo! It's the first quilt I have finished this year! And to think it took only three months (almost)! *lol*

The quilting is fairly simple; some stippling in the blocks, a "quilting-made-easy" thing in the setting squares

and I used one of my stencils in the setting triangles - it is a really simple stencil to do, but I think it's very decorative.

In the border I did a very simple meandering, same shapes as the stippling in the blocks, only a bit larger.

Borders are on

I promised an update on the Bear's Paw once the borders were on, and this is what it looks like:

A little different, but quite fun ;o) I still have to figure out how I'm going to quilt it, think I might have some stencils that will fit...

Another update is that last night I did a new layout on my leaders and enders blocks, and I think I have enough of these patches for a lap size quilt:

Now I "just" have to do all the setting squares, and I still have lots of these 1.5" squares, so I'm thinking perhaps doing something along the line of a scrappy border... we'll see ;o)

Getting my mojo back?

Not too much sewing here lately, and hence not much activity on this blog. Thank goodness for the concept of blogging without obligation :o) But some small things have been sewn over the last couple of weeks.

A bookmark for a friend's birthday:

A needle book for another friend's birthday - recognise the stitchery on the outside?

And the start of a little quilt from my all time favorite traditional block - the bear's paw:

I'm still thinking about borders, but hope to come up with something that will work shortly :o)
