It's Sunday, and the perfect day for some light entertainment on the telly, a big mug of tea, and some hand stitching. While clearing out one of my cupboards yesterday I came across a bag of fabrics I had set aside for my Dear Jane, which I gave up on ages ago, and stitched the blocks I had made into another quilt.
In the cupboard were also some bags of templates for some English paper piecing. This is what I have gotten my fingers busy doing - mixing and matching with some pieces that were on my cutting mat:
Also, Lisa Bongean posted block #7 of Triangle Gatherings yesterday. Having some HSTs ready it was quick and easy to piece together. Having heaps of fun with these little blocks.
Linking up with Kathy's Quilts and her Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to see what the other stitcher's are up to :-)

Block 6 Triangle Gatherings
Woke up early this morning to find Lisa Bongean had posted block 6 of the Triangle Gatherings SAL. And I just had to stitch
I had the HSTS already stitched, so it was just av matter of putting the block together.

FNSI Triangle Gathering
Really tired after a busy week, but I did get some stitching done on last night FNSI. Happy the FNSI gave me a little push to do this week's Triangle Gathering blocks:
These 3" blocks are a little fiddly to do, but heaps of fun :-) Thank you Lisa B for doing this SAL! Now I'm up to date on the blocks 1-5
Now for a cup of tea and browse around blogland to see what the other FNSI stitchers were up to last night! Thank you, Wendy, for hosting this global sew-together!

Friday Night Sew In
Just got back from a week in Finland for work. It has been a very interesting week, but I am exhausted.
However I do need some calm-down time, so for an hour or two tonight I will join the Friday Night Sew In over on Wendy's blog.
Perhaps I will be able to stitch a block or two :-)

Triangles
After the long seams of putting the Park Bench together I needed something small (but not as small as the Triangle Gatherings blocks). I have long been in love with this quilt from Lucy's blog. So I dug out my trusty Sidekick ruler and some reproduction fabrics and started cutting.
Not sure what size the blocks in Lucy's quilt are - mine turned out 6,5" (so 6" finished) and they are probably a bit smaller than the ones in her quilt. But I'm quite happy with my little blocks :-)
No idea how I will set these (or if it will be anything like Lucy's), but I'll have fun figuring it out!

Return of the Park Bench
Yikes! I knew I have quite a few WISPs and UFOs and that some of them have been laying there for a long time. But as I pulled out my Park Bench blocks this morning I discovered I haven't worked on this quilt since May 2014 - I had no idea it had been so long!
So the goal of the day was to get the top together - and I got it done!!!
Two of the rows were already put together, so starting today I had three rows to go + sewing the five rows together. It has taken me most of the day, and it's far from perfect, but I'm so happy to have the top sewn together. Backing is in my stash, and I think I have batting for it as well. Hopefully I'll have s summer quilt ready by the time the weather gets warm :-)

Triangle Gatherings
While blog hopping this morning I came across Lisa Bongean's Weblog (Lisa from Primitive Gatherings), and found that she is hosting a BOW this year called Triangle Gathering. As far as I can tell she is planning 87 blocks that all are made using HSTs.
Block one
There's no secret I love my HSTs. They are just so versatile. So call me nuts, but I think I'll join this project, and have already started to catch up on the first blocks.
Block two
Lisa is doing several different sizes. When I spotted the post, I was thinking to do the 4", however the piece of scrap on my cutting mat I wanted to start with could only be trimmed to 1,25"
Block three
So I went for it, and this is my first three blocks - they look like they need a re-press, they're not quite as wonky in real life as they look in the pics. Here they are with my 1" by 12" ruler - they are tiny little things, and I can't imagine doing the 2" blocks.
Not really sure how this will turn out, if I'll keep to the blue and brown scheme, or if it will be totally scrappy. However I'll use up some of my scraps and bits and pieces.

(Nearly) Wordless Wednesday
Over Christmas I spotted the coolest use of an old Husquarna sewing machine (among other things).
Too bad the shop wasn't open so I could get a proper look.

Friday Night With Friends
Last night was this year's first Friday Night With Friends, run by Cheryll over at Gone Stitchin'.
So I picked up some yummy sushi on my way home from work, and got the chocolate out of the kitchen cupboard, and settled in for a night with needle, fabric, tread and yarn.
What did I get up to? I made my block of the week. A 6" Millennium block in greys, blues and beiges:
That is all the sewing I got in... I'm on call at work this weekend, and had a few things I needed to handle, and then the sofa and my knitting called my name:
I managed to make quite a bit of progress on my pink sweater - having heaps of fun with this :-)
What eveyone else was up to last night, you can find here:
Thank you Cheryll for organizing this fun sew together!

2017 Quilting Resolution
I have made a quilty new year's resolution every year I have kept this blog. I have lots of WIPS and UFOs I know I should finish, as well as ideas and plans for a lot of my fabric stash.
However, seeing as my sewing has been very unpredictable over the last couple of years, my resolution for 2017 will be a simple one:
Hopefully this will bring some finishes by the end of 2017 :-)
